National Library of Estonia hosted Estonian-Czech workshop

On 16-17 May the National Library of Estonia had the pleasure of welcoming colleagues from the National Library of the Czech Republic for a joint workshop. The workshop, initiated by Director General Tomáš Foltýn, was held on the occasion of the official visit of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and offered a multi-faceted programme, ranging from development strategies to digital activities.

New Publication: Collection of Articles “Theatrum libri: Book Printing, Reading and Dissemination in Early Modern Europe”

The Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania is pleased to present a new publication—an open-access collection of articles in English “Theatrum libri: Book Printing, Reading and Dissemination in Early Modern Europe” (Vilnius, 2022). The collection is based on the papers presented at the international conference “Theatrum Libri: The Press, Reading and Dissemination in Early Modern Europe”.

Bosnia and Herzegovina nominated candidates for ALMA 2024

After the completed procedure, the applications received and the candidates considered, the Commission for the Nomination of BH authors for ALMA 2024 met, and based on their decision, the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina nominated two prominent BH writers for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for 2024 and promoter of reading for children and young people.

National Széchényi Library at the V4 international conference

On 23 May 2023, Judit Gerencsér, Deputy Director General and Zoltán Lewalt-Jezierski, Chief of the Cabinet of the Director General of the National Széchényi Library, participated at the 22nd Professional Seminar on Library Trends 2023 – TLib 2023: seminar for librarians and information specialists in the V4 countries, held in Banská Bystrica, at the Slovak State Scientific Library.

“CAN for Balkans” exhibition in a new presentation at the National Library of Romania

After a European tour through Brașov, Tirana, Brussels, Leskovac, and Veles, the exhibition “CAN for Balkans” arrives in Bucharest, in a suitable setting – in the Atrium of the National Library of Romania. Here, the initiators’ approach was completed with a representative selection of comic books dedicated to the subject, hold in the collections of our library.
