The exhibition ZETZAR. The Light and Shadows of Printing was launched on September 11, 2024, as part of the Zetzar project, an initiative of the National Library of Romania.
The portal BelgicaPress was launched in 2016 and currently gives access to 136 digitized Belgian newspapers from a wide variety of geographic and ideological backgrounds, most of which appeared daily (1814-1987).
Timeless Archives, Timely Connections: Preserving Endangered Documentary Heritage and Inspiring Collaboration is a conference to be held on 31 October – 1 November 2024, organised by the Endangered Archives Programme (EAP) and the British Library’s International Office. This will be a hybrid conference to be held at the British Library, London and online.
The National Library of Ireland (NLI) welcomed the family and friends of Richard Hayes to a special event in August to celebrate the official launch of the Richard Hayes Room at the NLI. Richard Hayes (1902-1976) lived many remarkable lives ¬– he was an academic, the Director of the National Library of Ireland from 1940-1967, a loving father, and one of World War II’s most successful Nazi codebreakers.
The new exhibition Miłosz. Return opened on Friday, 28 June 2024 in the Palace of the Commonwealth. It features original manuscripts, books, photographs and objects that came to the National Library of Poland from the poet’s home in Berkeley and his flat in Kraków.
Applications are currently opened for the Courants du monde (individual long format) programme, coordinated by the French Ministry of Culture. During their stays, visiting professionals carry out a concrete cooperation project, focus on the study of a specific topic or collection, or on a project related to the holdings or current activities of the BnF.
The “Data Pearl” competition was initiated by the Statistical Office of Estonia in 2021 to promote the use and interpretation of data and to improve data literacy in the society.
The exhibition dedicated to the centenary of the Slavonic Library, which is a unit of the National Library of the Czech Republic, is available from 5 September to 31 October 2024 in the Clementinum – the main building of the library.
