Assoc. Prof Kalina Ivanova, Director of the National Library of Bulgaria took part on 30 May 2025 in the on-line conference “Digital Library – Culture for All Forever”, organised by IFLA Preservation and Conservation Center and the National Library of Poland. Prof Ivanova presented “Digitisation as an Effective Tool for Preservation and Access to Cultural Heritage Stored in the National Library of Bulgaria” sharing with colleagues from seven European countries the experience, challenges, statistics and development prospects.

The aim of the on-line conference “Digital Library – Culture for All Forever” was to raise awareness and share experience among European libraries. Knowledgeable presenters from Poland, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia spoke about the challenges of digital libraries with focus on digitisation quality assurance and digital storage especially in the field of long-term preservation.

Thanks to Mr. Darek Paradowski, Head of IT Systems Division at National Library and Head of IFLA Preservation and Conservation Center Poland the online event contributed to the valuable exchange between the participating libraries. Last year’s edition of the conference was well received with around 150 attendees from all over the world.
