E-library Continues to Expand – Already More Than 270,000 Users Recorded

In 2025 E-library, a shared service of Finnish municipalities, lent out e-books and audiobooks over 1.7 million times and magazines were read almost five million times. The collection grew to comprise over 12,000 e-books and audiobooks with over 70,000 simultaneous associated reading rights in January 2026. There are over 270,000 registered users.

E-library opened in April 2024 and lends out e-books, audiobooks and digital magazines. E-library is available in 280 Finnish municipalities, covering 97% of people living in Finland. The service is provided by the National Library of Finland in collaboration with public libraries.
