The National Library of Finland digitises more than a million newspaper pages each year. It has now finished digitising every newspaper published in Finland up to the end of 1959.

Finnish-language newspapers up to the end of 1939 are freely accessible online at digi.kansalliskirjasto.fi, thanks to an agreement with copyright management organisation Kopiosto. A separate project has digitised the entire run of Swedish-language newspapers published in Finland, and these titles up to the end of 1949 are openly accessible.
