His estate contains an exceptionally comprehensive collection of correspondence with over 700 correspondents from 23 countries dating back to the 1980s. Manuscripts document his entire literary output, including previously unpublished texts. It includes preliminary drafts, sketches, corrected versions, galley proofs and cover designs for his novels and stories, as well as various versions of the screenplays for his filmed works and materials documenting his close collaboration with his translators.
A rich collection of personal documents and memorabilia includes research materials, travel documents, calendars, diaries, audio and video materials, and photographs. The breadth and international scope of this collection reflect the career of a great European author.
