Russian State Library Call for Papers

Dear Colleagues,

The Russian State Library invites professionals in the field of conservation to take part in the 6th Annual International Scientific and Practical Seminar “Document Restoration: Conservatism and Innovations”, which will be held on 4 – 8 April 2022.

This seminar was established in 2016. It is a renowned platform for the exchange of best practices and advanced training of conservation and restoration practitioners from all over Russia, the CIS and other countries, and international organisations.

The members of professional community are welcome to attend various workshops and practical classes on the restoration of library and archival materials. Reputed experts will share their experience in working with various objects: graphics, bindings, sheets, leather, parchment, metal, and wood.

This year we would like to include a particular section on the preservation and restoration of Slavic manuscripts.

We are looking to hearing from our colleagues who safeguard common Slavic heritage and could share their unique perspective!

We offer several forms of seminar participation: presenting a report, making a PPT presentation, and / or leading a master class as an invited expert.

Working languages: Russian, English, and French.

We are happy to answer any questions either by phone or e-mail.

Sincerely,

Seminar Steering Committee
