The National Library of Greece (NLG) welcomed the Director of the National and University Library of Iceland, Örn Hrafnkelsson, on 24 October 2025.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the Director General of the NLG Chrysa Nikolaou. The meeting strengthened the ties between the national libraries and marked the beginning of discussions regarding future cooperation.

The two sides exchanged views on initiatives and actions they could jointly develop in the immediate and medium-term future. The discussions focused on highlighting new possibilities for cooperation aiming at further strengthening relations, as well as promoting access to information and knowledge.

At the end of the visit, a guided tour of the NLG premises at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center was conducted.
