In February 2026, the German National Library (DNB) set a new record of 20 million for its collection of online publications. This is another significant milestone in preserving the digital cultural heritage for future generations.
What began in the late 1990s with a collection of several hundred online publications is now growing rapidly, with thousands of new additions every day – minute by minute. In the field of digital music releases alone, the import of around 10,000 audio files per week means that digital holdings are continuing to grow steadily.
