CENL is proud to announce the publication of its 2025 Annual General Meeting proceedings, themed “Artificial Intelligence Meets Cultural Heritage”. Held in Edinburgh, the event brought together national library leaders from across Europe to explore and discuss the transformative potential of AI in preserving and sharing cultural heritage.
The gathering highlighted the many ways in which AI can support national libraries in making collections more accessible, ensuring long-term digital preservation, and working more sustainably—while carefully navigating ethical and institutional boundaries. Through inspiring case studies in the session “AI in Action: Voices from National Libraries”, member institutions shared practical experiences and innovative approaches.
The publication reflects the dynamic discussions and forward-thinking strategies emerging from the meeting. While they cannot replace the rich exchange of ideas in person, they offer valuable insights for libraries worldwide.
We would like to thank all contributors to the AGM for sharing their knowledge and experience so generously.
