A scientific conference titled “Heydar Aliyev: State Sovereignty and Constitutional Order” was held at the National Library. The event, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Library, was dedicated to 15 June – National Salvation Day.
Following the performance of the National Anthem, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the country’s martyrs was honoured with a minute of silence. A documentary film dedicated to the National Leader was then screened.
Opening the conference, Director of the National Library, Professor Karim Tahirov, noted that 30 years ago, their National Leader Heydar Aliyev who first visited this hall, which was established in 1995. He emphasised that the great statesman described libraries as sacred places for the people, the nation, and society — sources of knowledge, intellect, and morality.
Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, delivered a keynote speech on “National Leader Heydar Aliyev: Constitution and State Sovereignty”.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Polad Bulbuloglu, highlighted Heydar Aliyev’s special approach to culture. He stated that upon returning to political power, the National Leader, with his rich state-building experience and determination, led Azerbaijan out of a difficult period and onto a path of sustainable development in a short time.
Later, speeches were delivered by: Academician Nizami Jafarov – Director of the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, Hikmat Babaoglu – Member of Parliament, Aydin Mirzazade – Member of Parliament, Vugar Rahimzade – Member of Parliament, Mukhtar Naghiyev – Head of the YAP Sabail District Organization, Rashad Majid – Chairman of the Press Council, Zaur Aliyev – Dean of the Faculty of Law at Baku State University.
