The  National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina exhibit will remain on display for the next two years in the House of European History in Brussels

The House of European History (HEH) in Brussels and the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NULB&H) signed an agreement to extend the loan of a valuable exhibit from NULB&H, which has been included as part of the permanent exhibition of HEH since 2019. This exhibit consists of exhibits borrowed from museums, libraries, and archives from all over Europe, including exhibits from the Special Collections of the NUBBiH, which were exhibited for the first time in 2017.

The book on Bruegel is one of the rare books saved from the National Library in Sarajevo, which did not turn into ash after the shelling of the City Hall building in 1992.

The first book from the Special Collections of the NULB&H exhibited at the HEH in 2017, was the Collection of Salawat, known as DELAIL EL-HAJRAT, collected by Muõammad b. Sulaymān b. ‘Abdurraõmān al-Ğazūli, (died 870/1465).

DIE GROSSEN FRANZÖSISCHEN IMPRESSIONISTEN, also from the Special Collections, saved from the flames in the City Hall and visibly damaged by the fire, was on loan to HEH for the period November 2017 – November 2019.

It was replaced by the book DASS GROSSE BRUEGEL – WERK, by Gustav Glück, edition from 1955, (printed in Vienna and Munich and contains 124 pages), which will be exhibited at HEH until November 2026.
