The Summer Reading and Creativity Campaign, organised by the National Library of Greece (NLG) for the libraries of the Greek Libraries Network (GLN), is an important institution for the promotion of reading. Local libraries across the country become hives of creativity for young book lovers.

This summer, from 16 June to 5 September 2025, the young friends set sail for the world of mythology and fairy tales! Heroes and elves, spells and secrets drawn from ancient myths, legends, folklore, and fairy tales transport children to magical realms where fantasy mingles with reality and everything seems possible.

In the Summer Reading and Creativity Campaign 2025, dozens of libraries belonging to the GLN join under the motto “Everything is possible in the library: heroes and elves, myths and secrets!” and become places of discovery, adventure, and creativity!

The Summer Reading and Creativity Campaign 2025 is organized by the NLG and is implemented thanks to the close cooperation between the National Library of Greece and the Laboratory of Pedagogical Applications and Educational Material Production, Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Director: Professor Konstantinos D. Malafantis).

Throughout the summer, libraries coordinate their activities while children and adults alike share their reading experiences on social media using the hashtags: #ΚΕ2025gr and #forEBEr.
