Within the framework of the European Open Science Cloud, nodes serve as organised entry points connecting the research community with infrastructure and services. They enable users to access dispersed research resources in one place, store them, process them using advanced tools, and share them. Through the inclusion of new nodes, the EOSC Federation aims to ensure easy access to research data and services regardless of country or scientific discipline. The newly approved nodes will begin the onboarding process in May and, through several successive phases, will join the 13 already existing EOSC nodes by spring 2027.

The Slovenian consortium application was coordinated by Arnes. Participating partners also included the Institute of Information Science, Maribor (IZUM), the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics of the University of Maribor (UM FERI), the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS), the Slovenian Open Science Community (SSOZ), the Social Science Data Archives (ADP), the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana (CTK), the Institute of Contemporary History (INZ), and the National and University Library (NUK).
