Since January 2026, a new catalogue interface for the Bibliografia Nazionale Italiana (BNI) is available online. The BNI has been recording publications issued in Italy and received by the BNCF through legal deposit since 1957. Built on VuFind — the same open-source software powering the BNCF’s own catalogue — the new platform offers a more intuitive search experience, updated daily to ensure timely coverage of current editorial output. The project is conceived as a “work in progress”, designed to evolve in response to emerging cultural and research needs.
