The National Library of Ireland (NLI) is the library of record for Ireland. Established in 1877, it collects and protects the extraordinary national collections in order to share the stories of Ireland with people across the country and the world.

The NLI cares for more than twelve million items, including books, manuscripts, newspapers, photographs, prints, maps, drawings, ephemera, music and digital media. The NLI is open, free of charge, to all those who wish to consult the collections.

The five strategic priorities for the National Library of Ireland for 2022-2026 are to Collect, Protect, Reveal, Engage and Innovate. Further information is available at www.nli.ie. Follow the NLI on Twitter (formerly X) @NLIreland, Facebook National Library of Ireland, Instagram, Flickr on the Commons and YouTube.

The National Library of Ireland (NLI) has partnered with the British Embassy Dublin and the British Council on a vibrant and creative education project marking the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen, culminating in a special exhibition at Seamus Heaney: Listen Now Again at the Bank of Ireland Cultural and Heritage Centre, Westmoreland Street.
