The National Library of Greece (NLG) presents to the public a collection of rare and timeless documents, through four connected thematic exhibits which invite the audience to discover the hidden facets of modern Hellenic creativity, cultural inheritance and historical knowledge.

(Versi)fication examines the close connection between poetry and music, presenting selected works from the General Collection of NLG that have been set to music by some of the greatest Greek composers, and unravels the unique dialogue between the written word and lyrical expression. Right up ahead, honouring 100 years since his birth and 20 years since the passing of Manolis Anagnostakis, are exhibited rare editions of his poems, anthologies, collective volumes, his notable magazine Critiques and its translations into European languages.
Next after, from the General Collection of the NLG are exhibited the works of Western European travelers of the 17th and 18th centuries who write down their detailed observations of everyday life, places and monuments of Greece, offering valuable social and historical insights. Lastly is the exhibition of theatrical posters from the National Theatre of Northern Greece which present the narrative settings of the ancient drama plays and the places where they were first presented.
Taking place in the atrium of the 4th floor of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), the NLG offers the visitors a unique opportunity to discover its vast and diverse collection of items and peruse a cultural trip that connects poetry, music, theatre and historic knowledge with modern Greek culture.
