Learn more about the lives of Georgie Hyde Lees, Lily and Lolly Yeats, and Anne Yeats at this event comprising talks and discussion on the lives and achievements of these creative women. Speakers: Associate Professor School of English, Drama and Film, UCD, Lucy Collins; Senior Lecturer in Design for Stage + Screen, IADT, Dr Elaine Sisson; and author, documentary maker and curator, Deirdre Mulrooney. Celebrate Chinese New Year 

This February at the NLI, celebrate the Chinese Year of the Rat with lectures, and interactive talks and workshops. 

On Tuesday 4 February at 6.30pm, join Professor Jerusha McCormack, who will reflect on the commonalities that have emerged between the two nations over the course of fifteen years of teaching about Ireland in China. In association with the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival. More

On Friday 7 and Saturday 8 February at 3.30pm, learn about the evolution of written Chinese, with an opportunity to learn and write some words in Mandarin. Delve into the life and work of WB Yeats in our main building at 7-8 Kildare Street and explore the experiences of Irish soldiers during WWI at World War Ireland at No 2/3 Kildare Street. Explore key aspects of the Irish War of Independence in our new photographic exhibition ‘From Turmoil to Truce: Photographs of the War of Independence‘ at the National Photographic Archive, Temple Bar, until May 2020.
