The BnF is organising a major exhibition dedicated to Colette (1873–1954), a key figure in 20th-century literature. The exhibition, with more than 300 items, depicts the worlds of an independent woman, often ahead of her time, who was able to build an innovative, daring, sometimes transgressive body of work that is still surprisingly relevant today. Manuscripts, paintings, photographs, prints and a few emblematic objects shed light on the themes that run through Colette’s work and life: femininity, identity, emancipation, nature, desire.

From 23rd September 2025 to 18th January 2026
