BnF’s 2024 activity report

In 2024, the BnF has set a new attendance record with 1.7 million visitors across all its sites. In addition to the increase in visitor numbers to the reading rooms, the 44 million visits to the Library’s various online sites and the numerous and fruitful collaborations with other institutions once again demonstrate the influence and audience reach of the BnF, both nationally and internationally.

2024 was also pivotal for several major projects that will enable the BnF to plan for the future, notably with the selection the presentation of the architectural design chosen for the new conservation centre in Amiens, as well as the progress made in implementing the digital legal deposit system.

All these achievements are the result of the dedication of the BnF staff, who if fully committed on a daily basis to their work with the collections and with the public, ensuring that the BnF is a useful institution for everyone, now and in the future.
