Everyone talks about sustainability. And everyone has a different understanding of it. However, this divergence in understanding does not imply a right or wrong perspective. Rather, sustainability is a multifaceted concept, encompassing various dimensions.
The Conference of European National Librarians (CENL) believes that institutions such as national libraries, or libraries in general, have a crucial role to play in advocating and promoting sustainability. To underline this commitment, CENL dedicated its 2023 Annual General Meeting at the National Library of France in Paris to the theme of sustainability.
Now, CENL has released a publication that collects some of the contributions from the meeting. It provides an insight into the sustainability efforts of European national libraries; and hopefully inspires others to follow the sustainability path.
