The National Library is taking its collections across Scotland with the launch of a new outreach programme.

“OUTWITH: National Library around Scotland” is a collaborative programme of feature loans, events and activities to be delivered as part of the Library’s centenary celebrations.
The programme began in September with John Forbes’ Songs and Fancies (Scotland’s first printed book of secular music) going on show at Aberdeen Art Gallery in the north-east of Scotland. The opening was accompanied by a panel discussion on the power of historic collections to inspire new creativity and collaborations.
The accompanying events programme includes National Library Live (a day-long programme of taster talks and engaging drop-in activities) at Aberdeen Central Library on Saturday 8 November.
