Slovakia, Europe, and the World

The representative historical monograph Slovakia, Europe, and the World on Old Maps and Graphic Representations in Historical Works From the 15th to the 18th Century in the Collection of the Slovak National Library presents exquisite cartographic and graphic sources, such as maps, atlases, cityscape and landscape vedute, and town plans which are deposited in the collections of the Slovak National Library and which, in terms of their significance, reach far beyond the borders of Slovakia and perhaps even those of Europe. It provides us with an insight into changes that affected the world, its countries, and regions during the golden age of exploration when new continents were discovered. These graphic representations are therefore not only spectacular works of art but also a source of valuable information about the life of our ancestors.
