Reading Fairy Tales – National Library of Montenegro

One hundred and fifty pupils of the second grade of elementary schools “Njegoš” and “Lovćenski partizanski odred” enjoyed an unusual event organized for them by the editor of the Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/visit_cetinje/, Aleksandar Vuković, in the courtyard of the National library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”. The event “Fairy tales and their meaning” points to the power of storytelling, and it contained, Vuković points out, a clear message that “whoever believes in miracles creates miracles.”

The goal of this event was to discuss why we need fairy tales, and point out the value of maintaining the tradition of family reading. Children have stopped reading because TV, computers and phones are capturing their interest.

An open-air library in Njegošev Park in Cetinje was announced to be installed at the beginning of October. Every child donated one book for this new library.
