BNP: Online accessibility and digital preservation

In an era of the great and rapid transformation of society and the economy, it is essential to ensure that the cultural heritage sector has the best instruments, resources, knowledge and skills to make the most of the digital transition. As part of this process, the European Commission is currently evaluating the Recommendation of 27 October 2011 on the digitization and online accessibility of cultural material and digital preservation (2011/711 / EU).

This initiative is part of the Commission’s Work Program for 2020, under the specific objective “A Europe Ready for the Digital Age”. The consultation, therefore, seeks to collect the views of interested parties on:

a) the opportunities offered by digital technologies, advanced digitization and the digital transformation of the cultural heritage sector, as well as ways to support the sector’s digital transition,

b) the relevance of the current recommendation and the possible future orientations of the aforementioned recommendation.

You can participate in this public consultation by completing the online questionnaire by 14 September.
