The National Library of Finland has digitised all newspapers published in Finland up to the end of 1954. Newspapers published up to the end of 1939 are openly available, while subsequent issues can be explored on site at the legal deposit libraries. The digitised material naturally includes the first Finnish-language newspaper, which was published 250 years ago in September.
Now that newspapers published in Finland up to 1954 have been digitised, the digi.kansalliskirjasto.fi service maintained by the National Library of Finland contains nearly 21 million newspaper pages.
